This pedal was built from schematics floating around the web, based on a pedal originally made by Mid-Fi Electronics. It's some kind of a wildly arpeggiating and oscillating fuzz pedal that creates a sound that could be described "like a computer dying." The secret to the sound is selecting the crappiest transistors to work in conjunction with each-other. I built this for Alex Woods, the guitar player in my band, Groundskeeper. He wanted a pedal that would create a lot of abstract noise in order to stun a live audience, and that's just what we got. Check out this clip of the original pedal on youtube.
